What Is A Ghost ?? By Swansea Del
I've been doing some thinking, it happens occsionally, and something thats been foremost in my mind is what's a ghost?
For a while I've been trying to work this out, and keep stumbling across certain problems and anomalies. One of these being that a gohst often causes a drop in temperature, when manifesting, implying a usage of heat energy, yet they predominantly appear at night when it's colder and theres less heat energy available.
Today I had an idea.
We already know that "ghosts" is a very general term for many phenomena, and was used in a day when the paranormal was even less understod than it is now. I dont think there can be any real arguement that the gulf between a spirit haunting, and a residual haunting is so large as to warrant a different description.
Now, what if we're actually confusing ourselves about what we mean by a spirit haunting? Maybe we could then find a way that an entity that seemingly shuns the light and warmth of day (generally, i know daytime hauntings happen) could alkso be an entity that requires these.
When we think of a manifesting spirit haunting, we're assuming that it's the spirit we're seeing. Now, what if the actual manifestation is seperate to the spirit, produced in much the same way as a living ghost? If this is the case then a spirit could be a totally invisible entity, not even neccessarily registering on EMF meters, or any other device, but is capable in certain conditions of converting ordinary energy (heat, light, electricity etc) into either a seemingly physical manifestation, or sounds/moving of objects.
this would mean that all ghosts we see/hear/experience are merely images created by spirits, either voluntarily, or by accident.
The next question is, when a temperature drop is detected, is this the cause of the manifestation, or a by product of it? Under normal circumstances, for this to occur you'd need matter in a location, that's both conductive, and has lower heat energy levels to the surrounding area. It's unrealistic IMO to believe that this is purely the spirit, as if that were so, there'd be more cold spots, and they'd last longer. So, does this mean that when a spirit is attempting to manifest it uses a lot of energy, and this is absorbed through various detectable meters (thermometers, EMF etc) or is it that the manifestation is a by product of energy transfer? Not worked that out yet if it is a by product, then it wouldnt be anything unique. Think about a candle. You light one to produce light energy, but you also get heat as a by product.
So, to re-cap (or to put in the "Peter and Jane" bit for people that can't be bothered to read through my ramblings )
Are visible ghosts of the spirit haunting variety actually not spirits, but produced by spirits either involuntarily, or deliberately, in much the same way as a living ghost?
